Hi mates,
it is time for an update. i know I have not written for a very long time and I do not know why but I always forgot it. But now I have a few minutes, well, not really I just try to find a way to avoid working on my report. But i do not want to start with this boring stuff, no, TRAVEL NEW are far more exciting. At least for me. so what happened during the last 4 weeks? yep, most of the time I did not work because my lab work finished on the 19th of December, just few days after my last entry. so as it was shortly before Christmas I had to plan my trip to MELBOURNE. On the 29th of December at 8.50pm I left Strathfield (a trainstation between Westmead and Sydney). Sitting in the train and trying not to count the minutes which had already past (the journey took me about 11h) I fell asleep after a while. And when I got up we were in the middle of nowhere. Every 10-15minutes a house next to the train track and houndreds of kilometers nothing, trees, sheeps, horses and cows. I could see a beautiful sunrise and then the kangaroos came, hopping around and having fun. That was great!! Arriving in Melbourne I had to catch the train to Lisa's place. that was easy but I was sooo tired. First we had a big breakfast and then we decided to go to St. Kilda, the beach in Melbourne because it seemed to be the first day with sun within months (at least Lisa said this ;)) With all our stuff we left Fairfield and catched the train again. I got a good impression od Melbroune and the time at the beach was great. No stress, no worries just fun :)
The next day I explored Melbroune on my own, the free city circle tram is great. I saw houndreds of parks, buildings and other stuff. I met a lot of people, had a great time and enjoyed the SUN! another awesome event during my trip to Melbourne was the day (or better evening) tour to Penguine Island. Here, the smallest penguines arrive each evening and walk over the beach to their homes. it was so cute to watch them running around and believe me: I NEARLY TOOK ONE WITH ME! THEY WERE SO CUTE!! WANT TO HAVE ONE! so, I just can recommend this event. And even the landscape ypu are visiting before is beautriful. Of course, we are in australia! so the next day we picked up the car (It was automatic and a stationwagon - really big but easy to drive). as it was Christmas Day (24th) we went out at night and had a great dinner in a cosy restaurant. The next day I left Lisa with jacob (who arrived this day) and went off to the Royal botanic garen, where a lot of families were enjoying australian christmas with a BBQ and a beer (at 9am). I have to admit, most of the time I was sleeping. In the shade of course, no sunburns any more!
Now my great trip starts. it was the 26th of December and we drove all the way to the grampians NP, where I could really enjoy the wilderness of Australia. Well, you have to go there to get an impression of it. So much landscape with no people living there. But never mind, I just want to make you jelous. What else? So we had a day of short drives, walks to lookouts and waterfalls and then all the way (not back) to the coast. The next 3 days we were driving along the Great Ocean road. The first day, when we got to see all the highlights we were very lucky with the weather. SUNSHINE! Go there, have fun and enjoy it! That is the only thing I can recommend. of course we saw all the main attractions but also empty beaches and beautiful bays with blue water. What else do you want?
so during the next days the wether got worse but never mind. When you are travelling you dont care about anything like this. And sleeping in the car was even better, well I couldnt stretch my legs but it was warm and not wet. And soft!! Bad thing about the car: we always had to open the doors by climbing through the trunk becasue the door lock did not wiork any more. So what else did we do: we went to the Otway fly (tree top walk high above the ground), went to see more waterfalls and of course, surfing! The first time for me and Lisa was our instructor. the first half an hour I just wanted to give up. I was so bad! But after a short break I had new energy and went back into the wather (by the way, it was cloudy but not tooo cold, about 20-25 degrees). My conclusion of two hours surfing: I was so exhausted afterward, had drunken about 10000l of salt water BUT i stood up! yeah, I was standind on my board! I was really proud of me. :)
On our way back we had a short stop over in Canberra (Australia's Capital) but no worries if you dont see it, you wont miss it). so we arrived at midnight on the 30th of December 2008 in Westmead. After driving about millions of kilometers this day. so the next day: new years eve! Well not really, we were waiting for it. After a very busy day, several small preoblems and thanks to Christina and her sister we had a goof lookout point for the great fireworks at the harbour bridge. Go there if you are around! Unbelieveable, how big it was and I really enjoyed it. And with me: millions of other people! BUT it was woth the trouble!
On the 2nd of January I went back to work to do some analysis and start working on my report. Thats what I was doing the last 2 weeks. Writing, reading and writing again. Ah, i forgot the analysis. Horrible stuff, just computer work and by now I am not even finished. No way, I cannot see it anymore. But I have to. At least I have my first draft done and just the discussion and abstract is missing. And small parts in the literature review. Never mind, i still have a lot of time left over!
Now to the more important part. My coming journey. I dont know if I can write to you anymore because on sunday I am leaving for the wild west. Jup, the west coast is waiting for me. first I am flying to broome, enjoy the city and the beach for 4 days, then I fly down to perth and start my travels from down there. Dont know what I am going to see but I am sure I wont regret anything. And on my way back to egrmany, short stop over in vietnam and Singapore. So when I am coming back or when i have time in between, you will get an update!
But i am looking forward to seeing you all again, either in uni or somewhere else (will be back in germany on the 9th of March)!!

Hello guys,
first of all, thanks for all your birthday greetings. Or however you call it in english. It is funny, because I have to say, most of you were too late, well not really because nearly all of you live in Germany and there my birthday was a little bit later than in Australia. So most of the note I read on the 17th in Australia. But thats no problem, I already expected it like this.
So my birthday I stayed at the pool, where else. For the first time the weather did what I wanted. Sunhine the whole day!!! yeah, it is awesome having your first birthday at the pool because normally I am freezing and have to stay inside. At least most of the time. So I really enjoyed it. And the tiramisu at the end of the day, too. Laura (flat mate) made it for me. So it was a very quiet birthday but a good one. No big party and stuff like this but maybe later, becasue today I have to work. And the first mistake happened. I mixed up the days and came in far too early. But at least I have time to write some mails and the blog. I am already counting my days in the lab - just 3 left. Thats weird, I already have 100 days and after christmas and new years eve I have 2 more weeks to write my thesis. Dont want to but nobody asks :(

Hello friends or not :)
I know I didnt write for a very long time and I really regret it because now I have to write even more. So I finished with mentioning my planned holidays but first the work, as always. After giving my presentation in front of abput 30 people with a lot of biological knowledge I was happy. It went very well, although I had to change it again on the day I should give the presentation because my supervisor didnt like the fact, that we had put in some stupid and unclear results. So I had to change the order but I think I wasnt so bad. During the presentation I got lost about 2 times but no worries mate, just keep smiling :) Everyone who knows me knows that I am always very nervous before I presentation and it was the same this time. I have to admit, I learnt nearly everything by heart but had to change a few things in between. Not really how I like to do it. But afterwards the questions came. First there was just one question, but when this one was over all others started to ask some stuff. But I was lucky, they understood everything and I knew the answers - well, I hoped that they would ask me exactley those they did. So, afterwards I felt so much better and could start sleeping as always because the nights before I had really bad nightmares. Really strange ones :)
Well, so my work could go on but first I went on holidays, but where? Yeah, I went to Tassi for one week. Really awesome, I just can recommend this island to everybody who likes the nature and walking and a great way of life. My first day I stayed in Hobart and explored the city. Not really a city because within one day you could easyly walk around it. And the sun was shining, but that has been my last day with pure sunshin for nearly a week. The weather was very strange. So the next day I joined a great tour, also known as Jump Tours. Our guide, Greg, picked me up (a little bit later than told but he came :)). So I met my new travel mates for 5 days: Eveli from Estonia, Christina and Teia from England. Well done, no Germans. So what was good about this: I had to speak English the whole day and believe me, after 12hours you just feel exhausted. Your brain is working so hard but thats good. So we started our tour by exploring the westcoast. Several Walks were included through tropical forest to great waterfalls (Russell Falls and Montezuma Falls). It was so amazing that we just ignored the rain pouring down from heaven. But: my waterproof jacket isnt waterproof anymore - so one thing I just can leave in Australia. More space for other stuff. So, on our 3rd day, after great self prepared meals at night and some wine (of course :)) we went for a great walk - once around Lake Dove, the lake right next to Cradle Mountain. And I still cannot believe it, we got even some snow and hale and rain and sunshine. Yeah, my first christmas feelings. but snow in December in Australia. Jep, it is possible because if you have a look on a map you can find Tassi right next to the south pole :) So, the weather changed all the time. And the hot chocolates after each walk were the best we could do. But I have to admit, they dont know how to make a proper chocolate. Maybe I just should open a shop over here. but first I have to learn how to prepare a good coffee, very difficult for me because so far I dont drink it at all.
On our last 2 days we drove along the east coast (stops at the bay of fires and Wineglass bay - connected with exhausting walks) and finally arrived in hobart on day 5!! Well, traveling is more exhausting than working. Really, hard work. So the next day I wanted to go to port arthuer but the tourist info didnt give me all information. Therefore I just went to Richmond, where I stayed with a Serbian couple for 3 hours, exploring the surroundings. A nice little village with the oldest bridge in Australia and two nice churches. But nothing more. So, never go there for more than 1 hour. Just a waste of time. But at leat we had sunshine, so we had a cake in the sun. Of course with sunscreen :)
But the same night I had to go back to Sydney. It was Saturday, the 6th of December. The next morning I had to see that the rain came back and my plans for going to the Blue Mountains was ruined again. But great surprise, Christina came over with a Nikolaus. yeah, so sweet. So we went shopping but couldnt find anything special. the flipflops I wanted they didnt have in my size. *cry*
So back to work! My antibody had arrived 2 weeks earlier and my last 2 weeks in the lab had started. today it is friday, 12th of December. So what did I do this week. Jep, a new method, i started with a transfection, knocking down HDAC6, my enzyme. So far I dont know if it has worked but on monday I will, because my western blot isnt blotted yet. I will do it on Sunday/Monday. Overnight, i forgot it. So, hopefully it worked and I can do my last experiment in the lab next week. Another transfection but with the aim of comparing uninduced and induced cells. Just for insiders :)
Well, tonight we are going to the cinema watching AUSTRALIA, the new movie. Maybe it will come to Germany, lets see.
Hope I didnt forget anything.

Hello hello hello,
this week is really shitty :) at work I have nothing to do because my antibody has not arrived yet and the microscope is blocked the wohle time. therefore I have to come in on Friday (tomorrow) at 7am. horrible, and then i am finished. Well not really because I have to play around with my presentation. I just hope that geraldine likes my text (keywords, so that I know that I dont forget anything very important).But I also could read from the paper, nobody would be angry with me. On monday I had meeting with geraldine and she said that I am getting better and better with the live imaging. Because now we have found the right plating conditions. This means: a lot of computer work is coming next. As long as it isnt just putting points on the screen :) Fine! Yeah right now I am very angry with the stupid people living in Parramatta. Yesterday I was finished quite early a t work so I thought I could go shopping (buy some groceries). So I drove to Parramatta, left my bike locked at a fence in a very busy mainstreet and went shopping. When I came back, yes it is easy to know what happened: my bike was gone. Jippie, I could have cried and I was so pissed. I had to walk back all the way home (30min) and the sun was shining as much as possible. From now on I have to walk to work again. Not fair. But Lori said that it is not worth going to the Police because something like this happens all the time and she said that she was just waiting for this day ;)
Well, I just hope the person has fun with my bike. I was so angry that I went swimming in our pool. Yeah, get rid of all the negative feelings by doing sport. I really miss my volleyball. But there is no club in this area, really anoying. Well and on thuesday I forgot our lab meeting for the first time. I was just so busy with my presentation. Good excuse :)
Ok, my weekends are quite boring because the weather isnt so good any more at the weekends so I dont do a lot. Just sitting around and waiting for monday. I realized that life in australia is like in Germany. But thats good, so I will never have a problem with living somewhere else. I wont miss anything :)
Ah yeah, one good thing I did yesterday. I repaired my chain, now i have my pig attached agein :):)
Lala, whats on today: working with photoshop, metamorph and cell splitting. maha left us for her holidays in Libanon and now I am responsible for splitting my cells on my own. Great! Get some routine.
yeah, I am waiting for my supervisor to return tomorrow because i want to go on holiday but I need her agreement that I can take off these days. But it shouldnt be a problem.
so, I just hope my mood will get better during the day. Right now I have some kind of headach. Baeh!
OK, that was the news from Australia, I just hope I have not missed anything. I should write more regulary. I try to keep it in my mind.

Hey ho, my life is so exciting. What else can you expect when you are going to Australia for half a year? :)
so, I think I have to start with my work, because: first the work then the fun :)
I started doing live imaging. It is very interesting especially because you cannot imagine how fast Microtubules are shortening and lengthening. Could not even believe it till I saw my first movie. just 2min and you cannot even find your microtubule again. That is not very good for my work because I have to follow its track but I am getting better and right now I am just optimizing my assay. Takes a while, because nobedoy has look at the MT in this cell line. great, a lot of work to do. And I am still doing my westerns but now I really like them because the results are very impressive, at least for my work. But within the next weeks, I am going to do transformations (juhu, my siRNA just arrived), so my cells have to suffer from my treatment. Right now they behave quite well :) Just one thing happened: I have two clones and because of a wrong labeling it could have happened, that we swithed them while splitting them. but right now I am finding out if this is the case. So no worries mate :)
Juhu, and now the fun part. Last weekend Christina and I, we went to Bondi beach. Not just to relax but to walk along the coast from Bronte to Bondi. Right now there are very strange and sometimes boring sculpures by the sea. We tought that would be a very nice combination. So we arrived there at about 11o'clock and started walking. But the best part is coming now. Several people were looking at the sea so we thought we should do it, too. Right decision: at first we just saw dolphines jumping out of the water but then the great thing happened: we could also see two whales swimming along the coast. It was very nice to watch because it does not happen to often that you can see whales from bondi beach. Well, after the whales vanished we went to the beach, enjoyed the sun and did some sport :) Jumping and running out of the water which was very cold. And on Sunday nothing important happened. We were just staying at our accommodation, because it was so hot (at least 35C). Playing kniffel and talking a lot. we are waiting for our pool to be opened. Hopefully very soon. Well and this week the weather changed extremely. On Sunday 35C and on monday and the following days just 15-20C. Such a temperature shock :)
Who cares, during the week the weather can be as bad as possible but at the weekend the sun has to be shining. And till now this system works. On Thuesday I went out together with Don and Lori.We had a nice dinner at an Italian restaurant in Parramatta and for the first time in Asutralia I had a Pizza. Not bad but too big. Took the last parts with me. Ah, for everyone who doesn't know it so far, at the end of October I will get a new flatmate. She rented two rooms. really strange. From then on, I have to share the bathroom with Lori but that's all right because we get along with each other very well and we never had a shower so far at the same time. And during the weekend she is not even here in westmead. So, no problemo :)
And yesterday was another big day. After leaving work a little bit earlier as normal, Christina and I, we catched the train to get to Sydney. And what were we doing in Sydney? Jippie jeah, we had tickets for " Billy elliot-the musical". So th evening was amazing. Young talents on the stage, a lot of ballet, stepping, singing and acting. It was just: boa! It was worth the money, indeed. We had so much fun. We just could not take any pictures, but that is normal I think.
Did not buy anything because I have to take all the stuff home with me. Too much! So if anybody has the chance to see the musical: go there and have fun!!!!!!!!
And this morning I am a little bit tired because we came home at 12o'clock. but that's all right, just have to do by blotting and in the afternoon some live imaging. Juhu!!
And this morning I had the chance to see how Christina's boss took out a mouse's heart and keep it beating. unbelieveable!!
So, now I have so many plans to be realized! But do I really have all the money for it? who cares, you never know when you are coming back.

Port Stephens

Oho, it is Christmas time!! At least here in Australia. in every shop you can buy funny stuff and Christmas trees. A lot of fun. Little animals playing Christmas songs, such as Jingle Bells...
Well, today it is Saturday, 8:37pm and I am at work. Well, not much to do during all the incubations of a Western, but I cannot do it on Monday. Outside, we have a very nice thunderstorm. I am really looking forward to driving home. At about 11.30pm!
Ok, but I think this blog is for all my news and great adventures I take part in Australia.
Last weekend I had a long weekend because un monday it was labour day. So we (Svenja, Marie, Christina, me, ...) decided to go to Port Stephens, a 3hour drive from Sydney. We left Westmead on Saturday morning (6.30am). It started raining but we knew that the weather forcast was not the best for the weekend. When we arrived in Shoal Bay (where we had a very cosy accommodation) the sun was shining and we decided to go for a walk along the beautiful beach. Amazing landscape and nice white beach... and not to forget, the blue water, everywhere. In the afternoon we enjoyed the sun and afterwards had a big a tasty portion of fish&chips! Bao, and in the evening we met the other guys at their hostel and had as always a nice BBQ! The mood was not the best (among the germans) but I just hope that now everything is fine again. The next morning Marie, Christina and me (I was driving), we tried to find a koala (in the Lemon Tree Passage and another place), but we weren't very lucky although we were walking around for at least 3 hours with our head in the neck :) Well, at least the landscape was nice and we had a little bit of fun afterwards climbing the rocks :)
In the evening we cooked Spaghetti in an electrical pan. Nice, really liked it.
And on Monday, our great day. Driving to nelson bay and catching a boat. So imagine what we were doing? Yes, we planed to see whales and dolphines. On the boat, the weather changed and it started raining. But who cares, with a rain coat nothing could happen, well afterwards our shoes and legs were absolutly wet. Driving out into the Tasman sea, we saw some dolphines. And outside, very close to the coast we saw our first whales. At least three jumps of a male whale and another mother whale together with its child playing. that was a great event. You have to see it to understand what I mean. But we were very lucky to see them that close to the coast (well, it was whale event in Port Stephens, a time, when the Humback whales come along the coast to go to Alaska?? (check it out again)).
On our way back we stopped in Newcastle. A normal small city at the coast I think. The weather had changed again and the sun was shining. Yeah!!
Well, next day back to work. Nothing new here, had to plate cells and the next day extract some of them or induce them. Everything as always. Just finishing some experiemts to make sure that our hypotheses are really right or wrong. each experiment has to be positive at least 3 times, or negative. And it takes me a while (at least 3 days) to perform one experiment.
So, now I am doing a western. Still having 1.30h left till I can leave.

Hello friends,
I am so sorry I did not write for such a long time. So you re all not up to date. At least not the persons who write emails with me :)
Australia is still the greatest country for me. I get along very well and living on your own does not seem to be a problem for me. Still cooking every evening. And you wont believe it: I started running. Well, maybe I should start at the weekend, when I went to hunter Valley (already 3 weeks ago). This is a very famous wine region and we drove there by car. I was driving on the left side, it is like on the right side, but the "Blinker" and "Scheibenwischer" are switched. so it sometimes happend that I turned on the wrong one. But I was very happy that we had an automatic car. That was my luck!!! Well, after about 4hours driving through beautiful landscape we arrived in sandy hollow. A very nice and small place in the middle of nowhere. But there we were staying for the night. In the afternoon we drove to a wineyard to do some wine tasting. The owner was very nice and showed us (13 people from germany, france, mexico, great britain and holland) his place. So I saw my first fermenter here in australia (yeah). After that, we went for a walk (the weather was amazing, the sun was shining and it was nearly too hot). In the evening we prepared a great and tasty BBQ (with beef, chicken, kangaroo,..., even veggis). We had a lot of fun and the next morning the weather destroyed our plans. It was raining and we wanted to go to a national park to see some animals, what else? So we started after a pencake breakfast and just hoped that the sun would come out, nothing like this happend. I got even worse. And the streets, too. Muddy, what else? Well, after driving half of the way we decided to turn around because it got very slippery on the road. But we were lucky, next to the street there were a few kangaroos, wallabies, a turtle, cows (they were crossing the road right in front of me) and horses. So we went back to the good street and back to Sydney (after stopping in a small town for a short stroll around).
Jep, and then last weekend: Sydney marathon!! Together with some friends we decided to take part in it. But not running 42km. i was just running 4km but this was already enough. I have to admit, I was untrained and hate jogging :) So I started running the week before and on sunday (during the run over the bridge and the opera house as our aim) I had still sore muscles. But I kept running and needed 27.22min! Not bad for me. I was very happy that we already started at 7.30am (Westmead we left at 6am) because the weather got very well - which means very hot. So, we were running for a good reason - our starting fee was donated to an organization you could chose on your own - my one was the cancer research, what else?
yeah, the last weekend was very great, the weather was amazing and I nearly fogot to metion saturday: together with Marie and her flatmate we went to manly. About 30C and the beach was as crowded as on Malle :) So we went for a short but beautiful walk (without knowing where it would end :)) But finally we found a bus stop and got back to the ferry. All the way back to parramatta with the ferry, very nice.
Jup, and whats happenenig at work? I get faster and faster, doing several experiemnts at the same time. My project is very interesting and one hypothesis we already could kick out, the other one was confirmed! jippie!!
I think next week I will start with live imaging. That has to be a lot of fun. But I am also working very hard. Each morning i come here at about 8.30am or 9.00am and stay till 6.00pm. and just have a short lunch break. But on other days I just pop in and stay for 5hours. So it is very fair. And I love my work. Interesting and the people are so nice.
next week I have my official security introduction - after nearly 2 months here. Great! Looking forward to it.
And I have to prepare a paper for our journal club (I have to present it) and in one month I have to give a talk in front of the whole research unit - about my project. A little bit scared. Too many people. And not much time left. One thing is going on here: the time is running. TOO FAST!!
Well, that was enough news for you. Just for them who are interested in it of course.

Hey guys,
sry that I didnt write for such a long time but I was a little bit busy and had enough to do.
During the last few weeks nothing really exciting happend here. I worked a lot!
Well, I havent told you anything about my trip to Lori, my room mate. I had a wonderful weekend together with her and Don. On Saturday we went sailing and it was amazing, just a little bit slow :) We had lunch on the boat (real Broetchen). Although the sun was shining when we left it quickly became very cloudy and therefore windy. Good for my sailing experience. I really enjoyed it. Had a lot of fun. And in the afternoon they took me for a walk. And waht did we see? Kangaroos, what else. They were so cute. Couldnt get enough of it. Yeah, and then we went to a place where you have a great outlook over the area. Ah, I went farther north (near Newcastle)! We followed the start of a recue helicopter. And the pilots first had a barbecue :) Nice way! What did Don say before about the first thing what comes into his mind about the Australien way of life : "No worries, just relax!" Good description because everything is a little bit slower here. But I like it. :)
Jup, and last week I finally found my right cells. Now I have my own cell line: THB5 YFP tubulin clone #SM!!! Now everything is going on. Juhu!!!!
Last weekend I went together with Marie and her flatmates (from taiwan and china) to Bondi Beach. On saturday it was raining the whole time, so we decided to work (to get a day off later) and on sunday the sun was shining. Defenitly the right decision. So at bondi, nothing has changed during the last two years, it is still all the same!
In the evening we cooked together: hot pot, a little bit spicy but okay for me! In there were several vegtebles, fish, meatballs, octupus and so on. Even tofu, and with the spicy flavour extremely good.
Well, this wees has just started and I dont like it because I am ill. I dont think that I have caught the flu but it is very annoying. Dry cough. At least the nose isnt running so far. Ok, I will get over it. nearly everone in my lab was ill during the last few weeks.
I just hope that it doesnt get worse because this weekend we (Christina, Svenja, Michaela,...) want to drive to the Hunter Valley and search some beautiful and good "Weingueter". I think I will be fine, at least I do a lot for it: eat healthy food, drink hot lemon tea...!

Good evening, at least here in Australia. It is 8:00pm and I finished work about 10min ago. Really great, I defenetly prefere working late :) I am just so hungry and havent got anyting left in my freezer. I would like to show you a few pictures, but the internet is so slow I would need about 1h for one :)
Right now I am getting tired and I will go home in a few minutes.
Just wanted to leave a short note that work has started and I am very busy JUHU!!
Everything else is the same as always. Cleand the flat which means one bathroom, one toilet, one kitchen, one livingroom, one washing room and at last my own room :) A lot of work but each day of the week one. It is so much dust over here.
Super, nothing else to mention, just that I will have a lot of fune this weekend, I am sure. More about after it.

Hows going? Here in Westmead the winter is still present. It is not so cold but today it started raining and thats annoying because this weekend I wanted to go to Sydney but I already had rain when I have been there 4 weeks ago. Wow, away from home since nearly one month. Believe it or not, I just miss my girls :) And somebody who understands my humor.
By now, I havent worked a lot, did several western blots and SDS PAGE (for insider :)) and a little bit tissue culture. Next week I can do the same again because we havent found the right cells so far.
Yesterday I was in a chocolate cafe and it was so good, the italian thick chocolate, really yummi.
We will see what comes next because the rain is not nice for going on a trip. Now everyone from the HS Mannheim is in Westmead, so little Germany :) Next week comes another girl from Germany into this lab. But I keep talking English as much as I can because it is really bad so far.
Maybe I should go back to work but I am writing this during my free time because I already went to the lab at 8.30am. But I start at 9.00am

Hey guys,
all right in Germany?
Today is my last day out of work. Tomorrow I start my internship. Cannot write a lot because I am very busy writing our protocol for genetic engineering. Really funny. Sitting in the internetcafe with two computers. Everybody is looking at me haha.
Well, the weather is ok, now I have a waermflasche for the cold nights. And I started walking and walking... the whole time. Really good for my legs :)
Indeed, here is a lot to do, especially organising my stay. Havent got the internet at home yet and no alarm clock too. Really stupid. Tomorrow I have to get up early and i have the feeling that i am still in germany because i netver get tired smile.
Super, now I start talking bullshit, do not even know what to write because it is so much.
Maybe annother day.

hows going?
Yesterday I arrived in Sydney and I already have the feeling of being at home.
Really crazy. After my arrival I had to stay for 3 hours at the airport because the hostel opened at 8 o'clock but I landed at 5.15 - without any delay ;)
After my checkin I walked - nearly 1 hour - to get to the Opera House and I recognized that many streets. Really funny. Just as if I havent been away.
The weather was ok just the wind was very cold. I stayed at the Opera House and took thousands of pictures of tourists who asked me - next time I want to have some money.
Well, and today I slept very long because I was very exhausted after a 19 hours flight and a trip to Sydney.
Today I checked out china town, where several people demand the freedom of China and the liberation of the Communist System.
Right now I am already tired, although it is just 7.10 pm.

So, jetzt wird es langsam eng. Noch ca. 4 tage und dann bin ich weg. Ein langer flug aber erstmal muss ich ja packen. Das gehört nämlich auch dazu. Meine Tage sind voll und ganz ausgefüllt, ich nutze jede freie Minute um irgendetwas zu erledigen und die liste wird einfach nicht kürzer ;)

Ja, jetzt ist es bald so weit. Das visum ist genehmigt und in 21 tagen geht es los! Ich zähl die tage, weil was anderes gibt mir derzeit net wirklich mut. Und ab dann sind die comments auch alle auf englisch. Sicher viele fehler, aber dann seh ich meinen fortschritt. grins

Hallihallo,
an alle meine Freunde und Bekannte und Verwandte.
Mein Auslandssemester steht mir bevor. Ich habe einen super prakitkumsplatz in dem schönen Sydney, Australien, ergattert und werde am 24. Juli ans andere Ende der Welt reisen. Und das für ganze 8 Monate. Endlich, ein Traum wird wahr.
Jetzt muss nur noch das Visum genehmigt werden und dann schnell die paar Klausuren schreiben und dann los!!!!
Down Under, ich komme. Kängaruus und Co macht euch bereit!
